We use the indoor season to gage how the training is going and to give the kids a chance to compete against elite talent. Elite talent during indoor season from the Southern region, go on to be National Champs in the summer during Championship season. The importance of early season training and conditioning can’t be stressed enough. We get the jump on the competition.
After the track meet, the team sat down for a team dinner at the legendary Dreamland Bar-B-Que. The families had a blast as we laughed ate, laughed and ate some more. A table full of ribs, chicken, macaroni and cheese, cole slaw, potato salad, and all of the southern sweet tea you can drink set the mood. The restaurant is on the campus of UAB, a University known for it’s medical program and the Alma Mater of Coach Travis.
This is a great start to the 2015 season. Let’s keep it going!
